Camping - Lake Ahquabi

Lake Ahquabi
The campground is located by the lakeshore. There are 141 campsites (85 with electrical hookups), modern rest rooms and showers and two trailer dump stations. Each campsite has a picnic table and fireplace. An organized youth group camping area is inside the main campground in the "non-electric" area. Advance campsite reservations can be made online through the park reservation system. Half of the campsites are still available for self-registration on a first-come, first-serve basis. A playground is located near the campground.

Camping - Pickard Park

10 spaces with water and electricity are available for self-contained units (no tents). Some are shaded. There are no restrooms, dump station or sewer. Open April 15 - October 15.

Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations taken. Fee is $8.00 per day, payable by self-registration at the pay post.

Length of Stay is restricted to fourteen days maximum when campgrounds are full and space is needed. May return again in one week. Unlimited stay when campgrounds are not full.

Pickard Park campground is located at the intersection of Hwy 92 and 150th Avenue, 2 miles east of the junction with Hwy 65/69.

Camping - Primitive Campsites at Warren County Parks

Otter Creek Park, southeast of Indianola, offers secluded campsites, shady picnic area, winding trails, prairie restoration area and small pond.

Hickory Hills Park south of Indianola offers a primitive camping area, a small pond, trails, Indian mounds, a large shelter with raised deck and old homestead site.
