Events for February 2010:
Jump To: [ Jan 2010 ] - [ Mar 2010 ]

Monday, January 11 - Friday, February 5
Location: Farnham Galleries, Simpson College

Drawn to people and their environments - and especially natural light, Sandra strives to create a collaborative and authentic portrait of the world we live in. "Photography is a brilliant medium for exploring the outside world and expressing ideas I cannot adequately say with words. My photographs are of seemingly ordinary subject matter. I look for photographs in the constantly changing world that strike a note with me; images that contain reality and ambiguity. I use my camera as a way to see, to interact with the world and to remember."

Meet the artist January 11 at 5:00 p.m.

Farnham Galleries are located on the Simpson College campus, third floor of Mary Berry Hall on C Street. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekend hours can be arranged by request.

Tuesday, February 9 - Friday, March 5
Location: Farnham Galleries, Simpson College

"Place and space, as amorphous terms, are my primary interest in visual exploration. The mental presence of images printed or words read inside a book hold similar power to an empty room in an old house; a two-dimensional piece of paper or wood can be either a window unto a world or an object itself. As poets put together words that form new and unexpected meanings, I place different forms of place and space in hopes of a similar outcome—to use a hermetic mixture of text, image, and composition that is rooted in geographical and psychological space."
